Booklist

Booklist 2025

The booklist for Year 7 and Year 8 2025 will be available for purchase online or instore from Monday 2nd December 2024.

The booklist contains a number of compulsory items and a recommended stationary list. The stationary be purchased through JP Books or sourced elsewhere. Individual students may particular pens, pencils or folders etc. they wish to purchase and they are free to do so. However, it is expected they will have sufficient exercise books, visual diaries and resources for each subject.

Compulsory Booklist items:

Year 7

  • English (may be sourced elsewhere):
    Wonder by R.J. Palacio
    Things a Map Won't Show You: Stories from Australia & Beyond edited by Susan La Marca & Pam Macintyre

  • Dictionary: any English dictionary that doesn't contain a thesaurus or grammar section.

  • Maths: Mathspace Year 7 textbook and online resource (online subscription must be purchase through JP books, hardcopy textbook can be purchased secondhand)

  • Humanities: Banqer High online resource (must be purchased through JP Books)

Year 8

  • English (may be sourced elsewhere):
    The Road to Winter by Mark Smith
    Things a Map Won't Show You: Stories from Australia & Beyond edited by Susan La Marca & Pam Macintyre (can be retained from Year 7)

  • Dictionary: any English dictionary that doesn't contain a thesaurus or grammar section (can be retained from Year 7)

  • Maths: Mathspace Year 8 textbook and online resource (online subscription must be purchase through JP books, hardcopy textbook can be purchased secondhand )

  • Humanities: Banqer High online resource (must be purchased through JP Books)

Students in all year levels are required to have the following items:

  • Scientific calculator

  • Safety glasses - for technology and science

  • Headphones - for use when accessing online learning

  • Lock: Combination lock for school locker (must be purchased through JP Books, can be retained from previous years)

  • Student ID Card: compulsory for all students and replaced each year (must be purchased through JP Books)

  • Brinbeal Secondary College Study Planner (must be purchased through JP Books)

Support for Families

State Schools’ Relief is a not-for-profit organisation that works closely with all state government schools in Victoria. Each year, State Schools’ Relief provides assistance to thousands of students experiencing financial disadvantage with school uniforms, footwear and a host of other essential educational resources.

State Schools Relief can provide stationary packs for families experiencing financial difficulties. Families who need assistance in purchasing stationary for their child should reach out to their child’s Mentor Teacher.

Secondhand Textbooks

We have partnered with Sustainable School Shop to provide families access to secondhand textbooks, uniforms, calculators, and other items.
